MARLENE HALBISON

We attended the memorial service for my dear mother – in – law yesterday.  So many people were there.  She touched a lot of peoples lives and her kids and grandkids loved her dearly.  She has been the center of her family and the draw for all of the children to come home.  It was a nice service with David sharing the memories the kids had of Marlene.  I told David I understood why his mom was so ornery.  Because he is so much like his dad, you have to become ornery just to survive the sense of humor and sarcasm.  She was a great lady and my regret is that I didn’t get to know her any better than I did.  When we moved into Gilbert I kind of became removed and I am so sorry I did.  I think I am the one that missed out!  I snapped a couple of pictures at the funeral.  I wanted to take more but the opportunity just wasn’t right.

I did make sure all of the kids gathered together to get a couple of pictures.  I love David’s family.  They are all so good to each other and love each other unconditionally.  A lesson for all.

Other than it being a funeral it was a great weekend.  We loved having Mike and Georgine stay with us and Jimmy and Kacey. It was fun to just set aside the whole weekend for family and not worry about anything else but being with family.  It was a good weekend.
