So Kelli bid farewell to her missionary for 2 years yesterday. She is now writing 2 missionaries but I think this one has her heart. She was really feeling it today and I am feeling really sad for her. He is her best friend. I think she could talk to him about anything. He was kind of stinky for a while but he has come out of it and has been wonderful to Kelli. These next two years shouldn't be waiting years but preparing years as she gets ready to get married. It may not be this missionary but in 2 years it could very well be a return missionary. I hope she will look at these next few years as an opportunity to learn some great things. She is such a good girl and has so much capability and potential. She needs to build on that.
I have an opinion about girls that wait for missionaries. I think a lot of time when the missionaries come home and date the girl they left, so many times she is the same girl he left and yet he has grown so much in the gospel and in life experiences. We need to encourage the girls to grow and learn as much as possible in all aspect of their lives during this time. They need to be ready to be married. Whether it happens right away or not for a while, the preparation will be valuable. She needs to be developing her testimony and what better way than to read and study Preach my Gospel. I hope these are things that Kelli will do.
Not sure if this is really acceptable since he is a set apart missionary.
